RECOGNISED LEADERS in ‘performance parkour’, Urban Playground and Gravity Style, are set to unveil  their brand new show The Next Level as part of Juice – NewcastleGateshead’s festival for children and young people, on Saturday 30 October, 3pm on Baltic Square, Gateshead. 

Returning to Juice festival following 2009’s hugely popular performances, The Next Level, is Urban Playground and Gravity Style’s brand new production combining urban dance styles with parkour (free-running).

Founding fathers of Parkour, Charles Perriere and Malik Diouf - known as Gravity Style - join forces with The Urban Playground for a breathtaking display of dance, movement and agility in one of the most hotly anticipated free performances at this year’s festival.

 Rachel Adam, Director of Juice Festival said: “People were blown away by last year’s performance at The Sage Gateshead and this year we are very excited to be co-commissioning and presenting The Next Level.

“I’m sure it will be a highlight of the festival and attract hundreds of spectators.”

As part of Juice Festival and in partnership with Newcastle City Council’s Arts Development Team, The Urban Playground team are also working with groups of young people from across Newcastle, to create micro-choreographies that will be performed on Saturday 30th October as curtain raisers to The Next Level.

The award winning Urban Playground Team and Gravity Style have pioneered ‘performance parkour’ and performed across the world to thousands of awestruck spectators. 

The Next Level will be performed at 3pm on Baltic Square, Gateshead.  (Please note: wet weather alternative, The Sage Gateshead concourse, 6pm).  The performance is free at attend.  For more information, please visit
