Nine new signings for NewcastleGateshead Initiative Membership

The latest city-centre accommodation provider, Euro Hostel, is one of nine new organisations to join forces with NewcastleGateshead Initiative.

Opening at the end of March in Newcastle’s Carliol Street, Euro Hostel, is one of a number of new hotels and hostels due to open in NewcastleGateshead this year.

The bespoke hostel was keen to work with NewcastleGateshead Initiative and has also been joined by Quorum Development Partners; Brewin Dolphin; Namco Funscape in the MetroCentre and Gosforth-based Travel Bureau, Nova International, who organise the Great North Run; Holiday Inn Express Newcastle MetroCentre, as well as national conference organisers Meeting Makers Ltd and TFI Meeting Point, bringing the total number of members to more than 165.

Steve Mackenzie, Managing Director of Euro Hostel, Newcastle said: “From the moment we decided to open a property in Newcastle we have been working with NewcastleGateshead Initiative.

“The organisation’s proactive attitude and the personal touch we have received has been nothing short of superb, so becoming a member was an easy decision. The fantastic team at NewcastleGateshead Initiative has helped us to promote what we offer, and we in turn hope that we can help them put the destination firmly on the visitor map.”

As ambassadors for the area the new members will work in partnership with NewcastleGateshead Initiative, to continue to change outdated perceptions and help to develop NewcastleGateshead as a world-class destination.

They join a diverse mix of organisations already working with NewcastleGateshead Initiative, ranging from popular attractions such as BALTIC – Centre for Contemporary Art;  international shipping company DFDS Seaways Ltd and major North East sporting teams such as the Newcastle Falcons and Durham County Cricket Club.

Celebrating its 10th year earlier this year NewcastleGateshead Intiative also provides its members with a wide range of business benefits including PR and marketing support, high level networking and exclusive invitations to corporate events.

Quorum Business Park in Newcastle, being developed by Quorum Development Partners, said they were delighted to be working with such “an important asset to the region.”
