Juice – NewcastleGateshead’s festival for children and young people, which returns this October half term (Friday 25 October – Sunday 03 November), has announced Port of Tyne as headline sponsor of this year’s event.

The 10 day festival showcases outstanding work created by, for and with children and young people as well as a family friendly programme delivered by regional, national and international artists.  This is the first time Port of Tyne has sponsored the festival which is now in its sixth year.

Susan Wear, Port of Tyne Director of Corporate Affairs, said:  “Juice Festival is a unique event and gives children and young people excellent opportunities to join in experiences that let them be creative and have fun and at the same time build their own skills, confidence and aspiration - so we are very pleased to be able to help support local communities and businesses in this way.

“There will be so much going on we know it will also be a great opportunity for young people to get creative with their cameras and be inspired to enter the Port of Tyne Reflect photography and film awards which are now open online.”

Claire Newton, Juice Festival Manager said: “We’re delighted that the Port of Tyne has chosen to be part of Juice Festival this year.  With this support we are able to provide even more experiences and opportunities for children and young people.”

“We will also be working with Port of Tyne to spread the message about Juice Festival to schools across North and South Tyneside.”
